What is Audi Technology Pack?
The Audi Technology pack is an optioned extras. It is available for all Audi car models, from the small A1 up to the limousine A8 or SUV like Q3/Q5/Q7/Q8.
What’s included and is it worth to get when buying new Audi?
MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch
This is on-board infotainment system mostly called as Audi MMI or Multimedia Interface. It is colour screen between 7 and 10 inches on the central console, where you can control music / radio / sat nav and all other features.
Because of many different Audi cars this system can looks a bit different and has different versions, most modern Audis can run Apple CarPlay / Android Auto just by software – this is also an option in Audi – which is not available for older audis (2010-2016) but even for those cars, there’s a solution to enable Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
MMI Navigation plus offers also sat nav, DAB, HDD for music, CD changers, SD card readers..
Virtual Cockpit
This is very amazing cluster, where you can feel like you steering space ship. Audi Virtual Cockpit replace the standard analogue instruments with set of digital dials 12.3 inch colour display behind the steering wheel. It displays speedometer, rev counter, 3D navigation, radio, media information, driver assistance systems, caller ID and other car settings.
Audi Connect Infotainment Services
Every car with the Audi Technology Pack will receive a 36 month subscription to Audi Connect Infotainment Services.
This will give you access to all services available via internet using your MMI, embedded sim card in your vehicle will allow you do find information about fuel prices, weather, you can use also twitter, google earth and actually steering your car with mobile phone application (close the doors, windows, check fuel level etc).
Audi Phonebox with Wireless Charging
The Audi phonebox is a compartment in armrest at the front where you can place your phone and charge it. Charger is wireless and using Qi to charge.
So if you have Audi Technology Pack it comes with 5 free online map updates, after that you can still using your navigation, but it will be outdated. The renew costs might be very high but you can use services like upgrademyaudi.net where we do offer firmware, map updates (with lifetime map license!) or even activation of Apple CarPlay in new audis in a lot of cheaper price than Audi dealership.
